    Chicks and Grit

    Hi All, I have 8- 3 week old Barred Rocks and RI Reds. Over the weekend I gave them some worms we found outside and some mashed up hard boiled eggs. Was I supposed to give them grit with this? Are they going to get sick if I didn't? Thanks!!

    Are they Huddled???

    On Sunday I moved the heat lamp up a little- It was time to decrease by 5 degrees. The chicks are eating and drinking normally but when they sleep they look like this..... Would you considered this huddling? Do you think they are cold? Thanks

    Hello from Boston!

    Hello! I am a newbie to owning chickens. I have 4 RI reds and 4 Barred rocks. They are about 2 weeks old and started perching yesterday :) For a brooder I am using a cardboard stove box and they all seem happy. Any tips about raising chicks?
