Started raising chickens this past summer. One of my Red sex link hens went broody so I decided to buy some fertilized Ameraucana eggs & let her do her thing! It's day 21 and no chicks yet. Could there be something wrong or am I too impatient? What should I do? Thank you!! :/
I was told by the farmer where I got my chickens that I could feed them all layer pellets. I did not realize until reading the post on the subject that I may have harmed my girls. What signs would I look for? Most of them are laying now but I fed the layer pellets starting at 2 months...

Just fermented my first batch of food. I did not see HOW TO STORE.... I don't really want to leave in the house....kinda aromatic. Can this be stored in an outside building that is not insulated? Its in the 90's these days....building is under trees but not sure how the heat would affect it...

Its been 18 months at my new place and I still don't have chickens. I just can't decide on getting a portable (Tractor) style coop or a permanent one. Live in an area with coyotes, hawks, loose dogs etc...and I'm afraid a portable will not be safe enough. Or are they safe enough? Also...
Haven't gotten my chickens yet...still looking for coop. I saw one yesterday (tractor style) that I am very interested in but it does not have a screened bottom....can I add wire to bottom? Will this hurt the chickens? Worried something can get under the coop. Thank you for your help.
