    EE? Roo or pullet?

I'm fairly sure the one in the back is a too because he acts and looks like one. However, the one in he front I'm not sure on. And are these EE's? Strange colors for them...or at least not like my EE that las the bluish colored eggs.

    First hatch under a broody

Decided to give this girl 6 fertile eggs to hatch after much debate. She has been broody on and off for quite a while now so I'm happy she got what she was looking for. Hopefully more than one will hatch but if not, she seems perfectly content now. Can't wait to watch her raise her chicks.

Please tell me this is a pullet....

I hatched some eggs that were supposed to be EE' s and I plan to keep one or two . I really like this chick by I'm no good at telling sex and have been known to take people's word for breed and later find out it's a barnyard mutt.... BTW...my barnyard "maran mutt" is my favorite hen and lays...

    WARNING...graphic pic

So I learned another valuable lesson today. The next time I drive 2 hours to buy hatching eggs, I will know more about what not to buy. Dirty, weird shaped, HUGE eggs are not good:) I started with 24 eggs...put 12 in the incubator with two of those being double yolked eggs. I ended up with 5...

Hatching eggs in cartons...question about double yolk egg

I'm locking down eggs tonight and two of them are double yolk and still thriving. I've hatched in egg cartons with great success but I was wondering if it would be better to lay the twin eggs on the mesh or should I put them in a carton as well? Never hatched one and am anticipating problems as...
