My white leghorn just started laying, and two of the six eggs I've gotten were double yolks. I don't know about the other four as I haven't used them. Is this typical?
I bought four pullets this spring, two white leghorns and two Rhode Island reds. We're expecting our third baby this fall, and we'll probably have more. But I figured I'd better start now before later when I have lots of kids and need lots of eggs. I'm excited to see them lay their first eggs...
