Can you raise Marek's vaccinated chicks and non Marek's vaccinated together?

Tomorrow we are getting our three chicks from the feed store. They are Marek's vaccinated. Due to an unforeseen disaster, we lost one chicken, and would like to get two more chicks to keep the flock the same size. We found some chicks we could get today, but they are not vaccinated for Mareks...

    Dead Chicken: Illness?

I went out this evening to collect eggs and see if my chickens needed more feed, but I noticed that my one year old Easter Egger was dead. Yesterday she was perfectly fine and as far as I can remember had no symptoms. She was walking normally, eating, drinking, flying, and not coughing or...

    Indian Runner Ducks

We are possibly getting two Indian Runner Ducks, but our biggest concern is noise. I have heard they are noisy, but how noisy are they compared to chickens? And are they only noisy when scared/being fed or are they always making noise? Thanks!

We have been raising chickens for about a year and love them. We are moving to a lake house soon, so we were wondering if we should get ducks. We would probably get one. I would like to know the pros and cons of ducks. I heard they are messy, but any other cons? We would have neighbors close by...

    Electrolytes?

So in March we are ordering three baby chicks from our local hardware store. They will be shipped from Iowa, so it will be about an eight hour ride I am guessing. The chick hatchery suggests electrolytes in their water, do I researched to see what other people thought, and I have seen people say...

    Frostbitten Comb

One of our chickens, a white Leghorn, got a frost bitten comb. It was doing fine, but when I went out today, it was much worse. She had been bleeding on her feathers, and though the bleeding was over by the time I got out I could see she had bled a fair amount. Should I seperate her? We have an...

    Sick Chicken

Hi! I am fairly new to chicken raising. We got our chickens in August, and they were around a year and half old. We loved the chickens, and decided to get some chicks. Today when I went out to feed them our Red Sex Link was acting weird (she is around a year and a half) She still isn't acting...
