I am hoping that someone can help us out. These chickens are 5 weeks old and are suppose to be brown leghorns but they don't look the others or my older leghorn.
Any thoughts????

After reading other posts today I guess I am not alone.
I have 4 hens that are nearly 3 yrs old ( Rhode Island reds, a Barred Rock and a leghorn).
I also have 5 Buff Orpingtons and 4 Blk Australorps (nearly 2 yrs.).
I was in a total shut down since at least early Nov.or even late Oct. I...
I am hoping someone can shed some on light on this....two of my chickens died this weekend.
One was 2 yrs and the other only 1 yr. they are housed in different coops and did not show any signs of being sick.
No predators...no signs of injury either.
I am so sad at the loss of my girls but...

I have had some concerns over the sex of this beautiful bird but I think I got my answer this morning with the strange sound that was coming form it....Any thoughts??? I was hoping it was an early egg laying song.....This was taken a couple of weeks ago...it is 17 weeks old...
Just wanted to share a photo of my new girls.....There are 6 black Australorps and 6 buff Orpingtons....So happy to have them as our new additions. They are almost 6weeks old now.....

Next week we are picking up 12 more. We do LOVE our girls. We adding 6 Black Australorps and...
My husband and I began raising chickens last year. We currently have 11 hens and we are totally enjoying the girls. Looking forward to learning more and reading about other people's experiences.
