I hatched some call ducks 2 months ago and I'm confused about what color I've got. My drake is snowy and my hens are white, spot, and appleyard. I thought this girl was the apoleyard's baby, but I was told Appleyard x Snowy made Aleutian. Is this baby an appleyard? If so, who's her mom?
I hatched 10 call ducks around easter and 9 of them are drakes. I'm keeping my one hen and the drake she's chosen to pair up with, but I want to keep a couple other drakes. How many more hens will I need if I keep 3 or 4 drakes total? Pix of my girl Smily with her drake for tax.
I hatched so many drakes around Easter and need to fix my drake to hen ratio. I've got 4 boys in white, khaki bibbed, snowy, and grey. I'm also looking for call hens because I've only got one girly. I'm near Roanoke, Virginia.
What do you think of them if you have them? I've added them to my cart 3 times this week, please either convince me to go ahead and get them, or tell me they're the worst chickens ever created so I can stop looking at them. 😂
I hatched these babies on December 11th, so they're right at 5 weeks. I think this one is a roo, although the blueish olive egger acts way more roo. What do I have here? I'm at my limit of roos. 😬
This is my first hatch and one pipped yesterday at 10 am. It didn't do much till 10pm, and as of 10 am this morning it is halfway zipped but there is blood on the beak and it's only progressed half an inch in the past two hours.
Can/ should I do anything or does he need to rest since he hit...
I have some beautiful young boys who need homes near Roanoke/ Bedford, Virginia. They're vaccinated and sweet, I just have too many. I think I posted this in the wrong place initially - they're free to good homes.
I've had two EE girls for about 10 days now - one hen about 2 years old and a pullet. The first two days the hen was here she laid a large blue egg and then nothing till today when I watched her lay a large light brown egg.
I thought they didn't change egg color? I wasn't surprised that she...
I got three hens 6 days ago out of a pretty rough situation. There were thirty or so hens, 8 -10 roosters and 40 guineas in a 20 by 30 pen. The hens are all missing feathers and I thought it was from crowding and the roosters but I'm not sure now.
The SLW and BR are doing ok and have already...
