I have 4 golden comets and I'm thinking I may have a roo. I can get better pictures tonight but based only on coloring what do you think? They are 4 weeks old
I honestly couldn't come up with a good title. We got this chicken in a set of 6 sold to us as golden comets as chicks, but clearly weren't. The other 5 were roos and we got rid of them. I've had a few people say they look like Freedom Rangers. But she is HUGE! And she will not forage for food...
I've already learned that my naive self bought 5 roosters from a man telling me they were pullets (weeks ago). Was wanting layers, but now i've confirmed that they are indeed roosters, now I need help with the breed since I've been told they look like red rangers meat birds Ignore the dominique...
Ok our Dominque is a roo, we bought this "barred rock pullet" at a local chicken stock sale. She/It is looking very rooish to me. I know its dark, but those are some crazy tail feathers.

The EE is 11 weeks and the RIR is almost 13 weeks after seeing them fight this morning I'm pretty sure they are both Roos but I figured I'd ask the experts.
I only had 6 but I went out around 2pm and 3 chickens were huddled together behind a straw bale, under a tree against the shed. I've searched the whole property no feathers or any sign of the other 3. It's 100 degrees here Do I assume hawk?
I have four 4 week old chicks and three 2 week old chicks I went to buy them grit today and the man at the feed store said they don't need it until they start laying, I am using purina chick starter non medicated (plan to switch to something more natural once this bag is gone)
