Hi everyone, just need some advice. My rooster attacked me earlier today, it's the worst time yet, although there was only a puncture wound (which managed to penetrate my boot) and very little blood, my ankle has now swelled up and I'm having difficulty putting weight on it. I've had a few run...
Hi all,
Just need some advice. I have a hen who's 50% of her feathers have been missing for some time. She seems happy as far as I can tell as she's eating, drinking and laying daily. I was concerned as her poor skin is red raw and inflamed often. She is the same age as my rooster, my other...
One of my eggs started moving last night (day 20) there's a small crack in the air sac end but very little has happened since. I'm probably being over sensitive but is this normal? It's the first time I've hatched my own eggs so could possibly be a silly thing to ask
Hi everyone, I'm based in the UK and my most recent batch (2 remaining) are at day 18. Very excited if slightly nervous as this is the 4th or 5th time I've tried to hatch eggs from my flock. Sadly I chose one of those crappy dome incubators but on the good side this is the farthest I've got. My...
Evening all
My incubating eggs are due roughly between the 2nd and 3rd of May what would be, in your opinion the last day I turn the eggs? I think it's the 28th
Probably a daft question but I have 2 live eggs that are incubating at day 9/10. I've had them lying with pointed end down, one egg has a definite air sac at the top the other isn't so clear. Both embryos are bouncing around should I be concerned about the unclear air sac?
Hi all, glad to report that after several failed attempts I have candelled my most recent batch of incubating eggs, and can clearly see that 2 are definitely developing as they should be. The others aren't as clear. Has anyone got any photos of 7-9 day old eggs that haven't made it please
Evening all, just need some advice really. I have one of those little 7 egg incubators with an inbuilt thermometer, I've also got this thermometer /hydrometer that I've placed inside. Where would be the most effective area to have it to get the most accurate reading?
After several attempts to hatch my own eggs and not succeeded I'm trying again. I have
read every article I can and considered various opinions on the subject so here goes... Wish me luck
Evening all,
Sadly, my attempt at hatching wasn't to be this time. The chicks seemed like they were developing but obviously not easy to tell. Each time I've tried, they've developed that bit further and realising my mistakes and adjusting accordingly. I've been beating myself up how I've not...
It's day 23 for 2 of my eggs they seem to be growing as they should up until the end but they have failed to hatch. 2 eggs left are on day 20 but I'm not positive they'll hatch after the first 2 but time will tell
Well it's day 21 for 2 of my eggs. No sign yet but I keep thinking I can hear slight tapping (my 11 year old says I'm just loosing my mind) think I've developed hatch-anxiety. Trying not to get my hopes up but fingers crossed
