    Should dirty eggs be cleaned?

    Eggs I purchased arrived less than pristine. I tried wiping them with a dry paper towel but didn't help any. Are they ok to put in the incubator the way they are?

    Do chicks sleep in the egg?

    I'm wondering if the embryo-chicks sleep in the eggs as some don't move when I candle in spite of my turning the egg several times. Others seem to move whenever I candle. Could the still chicks be dead? I seem to see some veins in a couple of the still eggs. Cindy
