    Didn't float- is the egg dead?

    My broody hen has been sitting on her (hopefully fertilized) egg for 25 days. I have been very concerned that there is not a chick growing inside, so I just did the water-float test. The egg dropped to the bottom of my container like a rock. Does this mean that the egg is bad? Thanks!!!
