I'm so excited! My 14 year old daughter went out this morning to feed and water our chicks. I heard her scream then came running inside to tell me there is an egg in the coop! Our chicks are almost 20 weeks. I'm pretty sure this one belongs to "Gladys" our black austrolorp.
Hello! Wondering what you use for bedding in the house and run for your chickens. I've been using sand in the brooder and it seems to be working great. I bought washed 1/4 minus from the local sand/gravel company. Thinking about using it for the house and run unless you all have better advice?
Being new to raising chickes I'm wondering if we have any Roos in the mix. 4 week old Welsummer, Easter Egger (buff coloring), Black Astrolorp, Silver laced Wyandotte. The SLW comb has turned a little pink. What are your thoughts?
Hi! Just want to introduce myself. I have my first 4 chicks and I'm so very excited! They supposedly hatched on my birthday 7/31/15. And I purchased them as day old chicks 8/1.
Black Astrolorp/ welsummer/ silver laced Wyandotte / and an easter egger.
