We ordered 4 chicks (hopefully pullets) from mpc. They arrived yesterday, in good health and seem to be doing great.
We ordered 1 each: Rhode Island Red, Barred Rock, White Rock, and Buff Orpington.
I'm pretty sure that the black one is the BR, the brown one the RIR, and the and darker...
Finally taking the plunge, and we're about to order some day-old chicks (pullets).
We'd prefer to get 4 different breeds for variety's sake, but I'm not sure if it's ok to do that or if we should stick with one or two breeds. Assuming it's ok, we're planning to get a White Rock, Barred Rock...
8x4, roof slopes down to 6 feet high.
Want a full size shed for deep litter method. But, I don't have time/ability to build it myself.
What do folks think? Good deal for $800 or should I hold out. I could easily add a couple of windows for ventilation and a door and then build a run.
