I know a lot of people hatch chicks year round, but I notice a lot also do their hatching for spring. Im wondering when you all start separating your chickens into their breeding pens for your spring hatches?
Hey everyone, Im trying to make a simple little website for selling my barred rock chicks and chickens but I need some awesome cute pictures to put on there. Does anyone have some that I can use please. I tried getting some good pics of mine but with all the snow I have (4ft) they just stay...
Im not sure if my 11 month old Barred Rock roo is goofy or just a good dad. Today I watched him help my 10, 4 week old chicks eat a pork chop. He would tear off little pieces and drop them for the chicks. I have never see this before.
Im thinking of getting some eggs that when hatched and grown, the hens will lay nice blue or green eggs. Anyone know what kind I need and who sells them?
Placed 12 eggs in my LG incubator for my first ever attempt. 7 BCM eggs and 5 barred rock/australorp eggs. Not expecting the world, just hoping lol.
99.6 degrees and 41% humidity
I have a couple girls that often lay double yolk eggs. Was wondering if they are ok to hatch. Also how do you choose which of your eggs you want to incubate? Do you choose large eggs, small, round eggs etc?
I have noticed that a lot of folks here seem to breed for specific line or characters in their chickens. Was wondering if that is the best way to go or is it fine to cross breeds and have a bunch of crazy looking birds that lay a ton of eggs?
hi everyone, I was wanting to hatch a few chicks out for February, and was wondering if it is best to let a broody hen hatch them, or if I should get an incubator and try to go that route?
Hello everyone, I just joined although I have been visiting this site regularly for more than 6 months. Im new to raising chickens. Have had my girls (16 of them) for about 6 months now. I have barred rocks and australorps.
