I know that if you incubate at too high a humidity that they can drown in the shell, but what happens if it's too low? I live in a very dry climate where the humidity is often down to 15% (I add water to my bator so it's higher in there!!) so I was wondering what I would see doing eggtopsies...
I'm incubating some turkey eggs and was getting wildly different readings from my plural thermometers so I decided to try getting a small (travel-size shampoo) bottle, filling it with water and letting it sit in the incubator over night to come to temp and measure the temperature that way. It...
I've got a few chukars and was hoping to get some eggs from them during this winter. What does that take? Do they just need light or do I also have to keep them warm? And how warm?
Also, is making them lay hard on them? I know they need some rest, but I'm not sure how much they really need to...
I'm new to this so I opened an egg to look at a yolk to practice identifying fertile eggs but I have no clue if it is or not! The images I've been looking at show firtle ones having a white ring and infirtile ones just have the white dot. This one has a white dot and a dark ring. Anyone know...

Thanks!
My first hatch ever and I have two adorable white chukars! Sometimes they peck at the air randomly, like they were trying to catch a fly or something, but there isn't one there. Do chickens do this too? Any idea why? Not that I'm complaining, it's pretty cute!
Day 29 of incubating white chukars we decided to crack some open and see what went wrong. One of them was moving! It had no internal or external pip. We removed most of the shell at the air cell, but didn't damage the membrane below. Does this little guy have a chance? What should I do to keep...
