Is it okay that my latest hatch all hatched late day 19? They all seem to be happy healthy chicks, but I was surprised when they all started popping out!
I have a little flock of mostly BBS Ameraucana (my single Roo is BBS) with a couple BCM, Olive eggers and Faverolle in the mix.
I have been selling some true blue BBS Ameraucana eggs($3/egg), and the few Olive eggers I get from my BCM gals($2/egg) and Easter Eggers from my light brown layers...
So I have a flock of mostly BBS Ameraucana. My single roo is a very handsome blue Am. but we had culled an olive egger rooster 2 weeks prior to me collecting the eggs I incubated.
Was I wrong in assuming two weeks was long enough to get his genes out of the mix?
All of my BBS eggs hatched...
Its late day 19 in my incubator (will turn over to day 20 late afternoon today) and I woke up to find two pips, one has quite the hole already and is cheeping away. Did I run the bator a little too hot? Or is it totally fine for them to be pipping on day 19?
I started a batch a while ago and they are now on day 12. I just had an egg order cancellation due to the cold weather and I don't want to waste some of the beautiful eggs I recently collected. Will there be any harm to the newer eggs come lockdown for the older ones?

only 17 but I have 20 in the incubator.

Half of my flock is true Blue...
I have some f1 olive eggers and a blue ameraucana roo.
I had read that breeding them would produce a 'dull spearmint olive egger'.
I would love to see eggs of this cross, if you have any please? :)

This is my first hatch. I built my own incubator out of a styrofoam cooler and bought some hatching eggs from a neighbor. Its early day 20 and all 4 of my eggs have been rocking and jittering for about 24 hours now. I very carefuly candled about an hour ago and see no sign of internal pips. How...
