    Help with a hen crop issue

    Helping a chick out of the shell.

    Is there an issue with helping a chick out of the shell? If a chick is having trouble getting out of the shell do you help it hatch? I've never had to do this but have heard both sides of the issue. What do you think?

    Electric fence to deter digging vermints.

    I added a run and want to put an electric fence around it. I need advice on the bottom hot wire. How far off the ground and away from the fence should the wire be to deter pred's from digging under the fence? Thanks, Rick
