That plot was fenced in but a tree fell last night and they used it to get over the fence and when I found them today they had eaten about one or two branches of the Carolina allspice. They seem fine but I'm worried looking online at it being toxic to them.
Now I buy feed weekly from a farm that makes their own feed and the stuff is amazing. But I found like 7 of these in a bag. Now I keep my bags super secure and tied up in the shade, no humidity etc. I reached out to the em ur they never got back to me. What could it be. It's crunchy and hard
Their coop is clean and huge. No drafts but has a big window for good ventilation. Their feed is from a farmer and is absolutely amazing stuff. They get veggie scraps etc. all of them healthy as can be. We have a 20 acre farm and they range in an acre orchard so no predation. I noticed she's...
He's 8 weeks old. No signs of disease but I noticed his eye has this coloboma type mark. I've had him for 2 weeks along with 3 hens form the same hatch
Should I leave it in there a day more and take it out? It must have hatched last night cuz it's almost dry. It's on day 3 so I'm supposed to take out the turning tray today. Should I put it by itself in the brooder when I take out the turning tray? I've never had a chick hatch 3/4 days b4 the date.
I know they are only 5 weeks maybe? I don’t have the ladies contact. She just gifted them to my aunt a week ago and I’m very grateful but I’m also very curious. I know they’re too young to be 100 on gender but if any of you seasoned pros have any tips it would be greatly appreciated and fun.
We got hit with hurricane helen and we still have no electric, just got phone service today actually. We now have a small generator for the fridge and I’m wondering if the week old eggs my chickens laid are still good. I didn’t wash em I just put them in an egg carton. They were in the fridge...
I’m new to chickens. I have a tack room made into a large coop. My hens free range and I usually close the door to the coop once they’re out in the morning. They’re starting to lay eggs but most don’t lay in the morning so the coop is closed so no predators will enter it. The area they free roam...
Sorry still learning, I found a couple of these poops after my chickens ate watermelon. Idk if it’s related or if this is something else. Yesterday they ate some tomatoes but I doubt that’s what it is. They’re only 4 months old and eating crumbles
I have 3 acres and amor of it has Johnson grass in it and I know this can kill livestock once it’s stressed. But my chickens have eaten it b4 we knew it was JG. We’ve tried pulling it etc but it’s literally everywhere and I don’t want to use weed killer on it. Anyone have problems with their...
We all thought she was the hen, and she at 8 weeks old crowed at me.
Everyone thought she was a hen because of her chick feathers
also she/he is the only one with a comb out of all the chicks and they’re all same age.
I know it’s not for sure until eggs or no eggs but everyone that chimed...
I have ducks and geese for years but this is my first year with chickens and I’m concerned with this on him/her. 7 week old Cochin. It’s on his/her back where he still has some down. Only one with it. They have a nice big coop with all purpose sand as their bedding, lots of ventilation. Huge...
