Okay so I recently acquired a hen)buff Orpington) from another farm about a week ago,she hasn't laid since getting here,and pretty much kept to herself,didnt really go outside and stayed in the coop..I made a little nesting spot for her(our nesting boxes aren't ready yet as all our other birds...
Recently got a new full grown buff Orpington hen,shes already laid eggs,and even hatched some,now clearly the move from one farm to another is stressfull,so I don't anticipate any eggs for a bit,but I'm curious how long it will take after she settles in before she'll start laying again?and what...
Earlier today I picked up a buff Orpington Hen,and 3 pullets(technically theres 5 chicks,but 2 are cockerals,and all 5 were supposed to be pullets,but I didn't realize until I took them out) to add to my flock..

will my Roo encourage my girls to sleep on the perches at night? obviously I don't go into the coop during the night,and I have found a few of my girls on the perches at times which is great but often they tend to spend the nights on the straw bales in the coop..Would simply removing the bales...
