So we have a lovely flock of birds. 16 hens ranging from 6 months to three years. Eight roosters we are selling as soon as we can catch them on auction day.

We have a broody hen. She's on six eggs. We think that she started 21 days ago, but we've got nuthin. They all looked fertile. She's moved from the nesting box to the main part of the coop, but still is sitting there.

Not sure how long. My husband put water in the incubator yesterday. I looked in there this morning, and one egg was crushed by the jiggler, and the top was off. It was cold last night.

We are planning an overnight trip and are having trouble finding a neighbor to open/close the coop. Is it okay to leave them in for a day? The high will be 50 and the low 40, so they won't overheat.
