Hello
I have a newly hatched chick that falls over. Mostly backwards. I taped its legs but it doesn’t really have the split leg issue. I’ve never had this.
It basically sits on its butt.
Any suggestions!

Sorry. Can’t seem to upload a video. Just a photo. Don’t know why
I have 2 trusty broody hens that have raised chicks before. I am confident about giving them chicks but I have never give them chicks at the same time.
Any of you have experience with this? Can they stay in the same area and raise their chicks or do they get territorial?
Any feedback appreciated
I have been reading up on older posts regarding brooding my chicks in my chicken coop. I have read on the mama heating plate. It's not super clear to me but I guess I will read more of the comments and see the pictures.
Most of these posts are older but still relevant.
I would like to know if...
I used to buy the small bottle elector PSP from the chicken chick in case I need it. I have a small flock so it’s all I need.
I want to buy it again but It’s don’t see it on her website anymore.
Does anyone else on here know of a place that sells it per one time use?
Ive posted a different thread about this hen. She has vent gleet on and off. Currently more on.
I’ve tried all methods listed in different articles here but to no avail. I’ve dewormed her too.
She’s now less than 3 pounds and her breast bone has nothing on it anymore.
Please let me know how...
I hope I ask this correctly. I understand that it's not good to hatch out eggs from a hen that just starts laying. I've heard to wait until the eggs are 50 gram or the usual weight for the breed of the hen.
What's your experience? How long do you wait until you hatch out eggs from a new hen?
I have a hen that gets mild vent gleet on and off. I always treat her as soon as I see her feathers being dirty. But over time she lost a lot of weight.
What would be a good method to fatten her up? I hope I can give her some strength to get through the coming winter. She’s 2 years old.
I had 2 hens with mild vent vleet. I treated both with medistatin. One had it cleared right up but the other seems to keep having it.
I have acidified copper for in the water but I thought it’s more for canker.
Any of you have experience with vent fleet and acidified copper sulfate?
One of my Brahma chick seems to have shit eyes. Or maybe no eyes?
The last picture is of a normal looking one
Anybody has experience with this?
Remedies?
This is my RIR that yesterday did not go in the coop but walked a different direction. It was dark so I thought that was the issue and I put her in the coop.
This morning she’s the same. She leans to one side and walks to a corner in the run. If I pick her up her head and neck turn one side...
This chick is still alive. I moistened the skin. I removed most of the shell. What should I do? Should I also remove the skin? I’m afraid it will start bleeding. It’s been trying since last night.
This is my Mille fleur hen. She has not layed for a while. She sits like this and presses her tail down. While it’s usually straight up.
She doesn’t have the typical egg bound posture
What could be wrong with her?
She seems to eat and drink normal
Thanks
I want to treat my flock with acidified copper sulfate. However I have a few 5 week old chicks that run with the flock. Can it hurt for them to drink the one source of water as well?
Thanks.
I had to cull a hen that was struggling with vent gleet for quite a while. At least that’s what I thought.
I did Epsom salt baths, gave suppositories orally that are usually for female yeast infections. I tried creams and did a 3 day Epsom salt flush. Nothing worked.
Now I have another hen...
My black copper maran hen is sick. She has been for quite a while now and currently is not eating anymore and lost a lot of weight.
I’m afraid I have to take her out of her suffering but I’m really wondering what I can or could’ve done more.
She has vent gleet that does not clear up. I’ve used...
I bought some 1 day old chicks a few months ago to cater to my broody hen.
Total of 8. All bantams. 3 mile Fleur d’Uccle, 3 red frizzle Cochin and 2 black silkies.
Of the 8 Im sure of 2 being roosters. One mills Fleur and one frizzle Cochin.
Which rooster of the 2 would you keep? And why?

My chickens free range during the day. I also feed them regular layer feed as well as fermented feed. They prefer the fermented feed.
I read recently that wild birds should not be able to get to the chicken feed because they can transmit problems like lice/mites.
How do you prevent birds from...
I have a hen sitting on my own eggs (4) but it’s already day 22 and I have a hunch they are not going to hatch. (It’s super hot here)
I have a batch of 7 2 day old chicks that I want to sneak under her but I read different advice. Some say offer it to her others say do it at night.
What’s...
Hope my heading even makes sense. This is my first time with a broody hen.
I have a broody hen ( Easter egger) and put 3 fertilized eggs from my neighbor under her.
She’s sitting in one of my nesting boxes and the others leave her alone. All of these hens were hatched last December so they’re...
