    My DH just bought 4 new chicks to go with our other 9. The 4 new are ameraucana's but one is very sickly. s/he cant poop but doesn't have pasty butt. Wont eat or drink and is very lethargic.     4 new babies to the 9 others

    so my DH went and bought 4 Ameraucana chicks to add to the other 9 babies he bought monday or tuesday whatever day it was. One though is acting soooooooo pitiful. we think she may be a gonner. they are only 2 days old but she wont eat or drink and I havent seen her poop. What do we need to do?

    okay so what exactly is grit

    is that like the chick feed that they sell you at the feed store or is it something completely different? also How much time outside the brooder do my chicks need? I'm so new to all of this.

    Our first chicks!!PICS!

    So my DH went to the feedstore last night and bought these little babies. We were told that 7 were Rhode Island Red and 2 were Brown Leghorns and that one of the Leghorns was a male.

    Hi Im new here(obviously) and I have no idea where to start. My husband got the wild hair this spring that he wanted to raise chickens for eggs and he knows less about them than i do and I know nothing about it. So here I am.
