    Mass On Outer Right Leg

    I have a hen the just started to limping today and doesn't walk much. There's a lump about the diameter of a dime on her right leg. It feels pretty solid...a bit dense but not rock solid nor really soft i guess. No odor, no discharge, no broken skin and no brusing. Almost like a little balloon...

    I'm giving my flock a round of antibiotics. Can I cook and feed those eggs back to my flock during this period? And AFTER the 7 day administration what could i do with those eggs for the withdrawal period?

    Blackoil Sunflower and Safflower Seed

    Ive been noticing a ton of blackoil sunflower seed in stores lately, obviously meant for wild birds. Is both the store-bought blackoil seed and safflower safe for chickens? I was thinking of mixing it or use as a supplement to the chick feed. If so, how many weeks old is safe?

    I have an established flock of chickens and will soon add more chickens. I'm also torn between a goose or guinea as a security alarm. Which will do the job without bullying my flock?

    Coop Intro

    Today is my chicks first day in the coop. They're loving it. Plenty of fresh soil to peck at, creepy crawlies, and room to play.
