My hen is not leaving the box, even an hour after laying, and gets super aggressive when I get near her. She'll take any eggs I put in the box. Do you think she’s broody?
Its acting Unconscious for some reason. Breathing, but won’t do anything and eyes are closed. He cheeped loudly only once while I was holding him. He’s pooping blood as well
So my hen has only been in the nesting box 10 minuets, but still. It doesn’t look like the is laying because her butt is sticking out, and sh won’t move when I come near. Broody? She is fluffed up too.
I would put them out in the coop in a safe way like some do, but it’s going to storm till they are about 5 weeks. Do I bring them out when it’s sunny? Is it ok if there is slight rain with a place for them to cover till I get them in?
I put my chicks in the coop today, and I'm SUPER nervous. I mixed the chick food and the poultry feed, and they have plenty of water. The other girls are being nice, they have a special box they like to sleep in, but still chirp like they are hurt. What happened? Will they be fine? I need help...
I am finding things that my chicks might like, but first I need to know if it safe for them. the first one I saw was flightless fruit flies. Would that be ok or no? Also, I saw GIANT mealworms.
My chicks are three weeks old, and so I started taking them outside. However, when I bring them back to the brooder, they cry like crazy. Is it that they want to be outside or... anything at all? Also, they chirp at the roosters next door :lau
Hi! I just hatched my first chicks ever, and they are super cute! But I am wondering what breed of chickens they are. They are 2.5 weeks old, if that helps.
Hi. All of my chicks sometimes sleep on top of the brooder, but other times don’t. Is this normal to sleep anywhere in the brooder? Also, is it normal for them to stretch a lot after sleeping? Here’s a pic slightly under:
Hi! On this thread, I will post pics of my chicks and find out new things to do with them. I will give them treats, play with them, hold them, and show them outside!
It's hatching at the wrong end! I will post pics and keep everyone posted on what happens. All my others hatched, so sometimes I show the chicks to the egg and they sorta encourage her.
It is day 19 for me and my 4 eggs, and need a little help and courage along the way to hatch day. Can anyone help me? I'm not sure what type they are, but I have one medium brown egg and three white. I am brand new to this, and it is my first time.
