:confused:Recently I have been noticing fewer eggs than usual in the boxes, and today only 3 out of 7 chickens laid, but when I rolled an egg over there was a hole where the yolk had been sucked out. I was wondering if it might be a predator, pest, or the chickens themselves.
This is a dumb question, but I gave a VERY energetic speckled Sussex and she has recently gotten bored of our yard, and is constantly wander into our neighbor’s yard. This is concerning because we can’t put up a fence and the neighbors have big dogs that have tried to attack the chickens before...
I want to have my Salmon Faverolle raise a new chick, but she has never gone broody, she just turned 1 but I want to know if she has to be older to go broody. Just wondering:confused:
My Salmon Faverolle, Buttercup, is rapidly losing feathers around her neck and from her beard. I haven't caught anyone in the act of picking on her, but it hurts me to see her in her condition. I was wondering if there was a way to discourage pecking. (I put vaseline on her face when it scabs)
