I am slowly gonna be sexing my silkies. We have about 10. So let's start with my only solid black satin? Silkie. I'm new to silkies so if you wanna explain their color to me that would be great.
I have a baby chick who was malpositioned in the egg, I had to help it out.put.. once free the inner parts of the bird that was in the egg was fluid filled/swollen.. 1/2 it's body basically.. head to leg.
It's not mushy chick.. what could it be and can I help it? Will it live?
This hen is about 18-20 weeks I originally thought silver laced Wyandotte but we have 3 of those and this one is Def different. The tail feathers have green to them.
So I only had the 1 assorted chick but have a few random that has turned different than the others. Can someone tell me what these may be?
Will post another chicken in a little while
So we were purchasing some specific breeds from our Local Rural King, when we spotted a beautiful older chick marked "assorted" for only 1.99. Lemme know what you think! She's about 5 or 6 weeks old maybe older. We've had her for about 3 weeks and she was probably clos2 to 2 weeks when we bought...
Sorry if I should've posted elsewhere.
My chickens.. 10 young but laying hens, and 2 young bantam roos, 1 full size roo, refuse to sleep in the coop at night.

This dude was so gentle and quiet forever! But he's slowly become boss(we have 2 more roos both are bantams!) But were unsure of his breed. I know he came from tractor supply. We hatched 4 eggs and atleast 3 have his furry feet( is that called buff?)
What do yall think?
We wanted a variety of different colored eggs layers and different breeds of chickens in general, and were on a tight budget, some chics can run over $20 for a colored egg layer and we couldn't hack that, so we bought "leeanns adopt me" from meyer and have 16 chicks that we have almost no clue...

Hello BYC.. we have a new coop that is fairly large and a pain to scrape and completely replace all the bedding, we have been using pine shavings but the poop becomes so unreal within a week or 2 and I replace everything inside the coop. But recently it got a lottle wet because of the waterer...
Been researching chickens for months and months. Finally started incubation, and bought a few here and there, we now have 22 chicks! And a $2000 coop..
We have 3 that I hatched, salmon favorelle , Easter egger, black sumatra.
