my first time hatching chicks.
I built my own incubator and got this little one this morning! I only put in three eggs to test it. (My hens outside are sitting on their own ) I’m still waiting on the other two. I’ve candled them but have no movement. :( Today is day 24. But I’m still hopeful...
Her leg is completely limp. No movement at all. And her thigh is very swollen. And I have no idea what’s going on. Help!
Yes poor thing only has one little tail feather left. Lol. It’s so cute though.
I have one rooster, 4 Easter Eggers and one silkie (with two chicks) that have stubbornly decided to all huddle in the corner of the house outside. Now it’s snowing with temps going down in the twenties. I drapped over this...I guess some kinda roofing material...up against the house to keep...
First of all, NONE of my chickens have ever slept in their $200 handmade coop me and my dad made.
When they were in the run, they'd perched OUTSIDE at night on a piece of wood that we ran through the fence. :hmm
I eventually opened the gate, and they stopped going in. Fine...so they're all...
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I bought about 15 chickens on impulse last year in March.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
After that batch, I have 7 left.
(3) What breeds do you have?
4 Easter Eggers, 3 Silkies--all bantams. They're eggs are so...
