My year+ JG hen has stopped laying all together after a couple small incidences. She was the consistent one until now. Even her sister who has been through more is back to laying. We've looked all across and around the yard and have found no signs of other nests or eggs.

So yesterday a groundhog scared the daylights out of my currently one laying hen while she was in the nesting box. We found her in the porch where she decided would be safe and laid her egg there. Now today she's adamant on coming back in to do the same. I picked her up and quickly took her back...
I am looking for day old chicks or those about to be hatched. Jersey Giants, Australorps, Rhode Island Reds, or Wyandottes would be preferable. I am willing to travel depending on where you are. I'm only in need of up to four to try and integrate into my two bird "flock" while the one is still...
Last year on March 6th I picked up four Jersey Giants from Tractor Supply. I wanted more of course but it being my first "flock" I didn't want to go overboard and property restrictions hindered getting more anyway. Raising them until they were big enough to be on their own outside was tiresome...
