Every spring I get ISA browns from TSC (I get all my other chicks from a local farm but these) and they were marked pullets. One of them has a more yellow head, but orange body. Is it a cockerel? My last batch of pullets (second to last photo) their feathers on wings were turning white too, so...
I purchased these two 10 day old chicks from a woman locally. I’ve been searching forever for silkie chicks to add to our flock (we have one silkie currently)
they both have feathered feet and 5 toes. She said they are black silkies. But now someone has me questioning if they are truly silkies...
I bought these four from a local farm as pullets. They are 4 weeks. Is it hard to tell if EE are pullets/cockerels? All of my other breeds have been “easy” to tell.
I got 4 ISA brown pullets from TSC. I know you have a 90% chance. Are these all pullets? I know the one with the red comb someone said it could be due to weather.
Do I have all barred rock cockerels? They are approx 8-10 weeks old. The one has a large bright red comb and a LOT of white, the other 3 have smaller, reddish combs and more dark. If they are, I need to rehome them 😭😩 I have a friend that would take them but I want to be sure.
So I recently got 4 EE pullets from a local farm - 2 weeks old. They are tiny!!!! I’ve only purchased chicks from TSC. My TSC ones looked this little when I first got them. So, does that mean they were 1-2 weeks old when I got them? Not days like I had thought? I got them April 11th, so “7”...
I just bought these from a local farm, they said they are 2 week old pullet EE. Is that accurate? The one on the far right is different than the 3 on left. This is my first batch of EE, so it’s a new breed to me.
I know barred rocks are easy to tell based off of coloring, but these are giving me a hard time.
This guy on the first picture is 100% cockerel due to his comb/wattles but specifically the whiter color (double barring). I have another one that looks like him too but he’s not pictured.
I have 2...
I’m sorry to be this person, but could anyone help? I’m assuming the whiter ones are cockerels and the darker are pullets? Since the Roos for barred rock have the double barring.
Can you have multiple roosters with hens? 🥺
I have two bantams and we’re not sure what they are. The one has grey beak/feet and the other one is SO small and seems like it hasn’t grown much since having them. Any help? I was thinking a Cochin for the white but then maybe a silkie? Has feathers in the feet too.
Hi! My husband and I have been going nuts trying to figure out if we have cockerel or pullet. We’ve done so much research but still aren’t sure. We are absolutely loving our chicks - and our kids want to start naming them. I tried my best numbering them, but most of my pictures I have aren’t the...
