4 duck eggs in incubator now day 27.5
2 are bigger eggs (Anconas) they both have nice big air spaces and I see some external pipping has begun yay
2 are smaller and their air spaces are pretty small so I’m considering safety holes . I see they have internally pipped .
Don’t want to wait too...
My daughter was picking some grass from the front yard to bring to the geese in the backyard. I told her don’t pick any onion grass, geese hate it,
That night she made this silly cartoon and told me I could share it with my goose friends lol
3yo chocolate Orpington hen didn’t want to eat and was laying down unlike her usual self she did not run over for a treat like the others. I also found I had a container of scratch grains that got wet and was turning bad, and pretty sure she had ate some of it, so I brought her inside, and mixed...
I just got my first incubator, ready to put some duck eggs in, but want to make sure I do everything right as best as I can so I’ve been reading and researching. One thing I noticed is I should have extra thermometers and hydrometers. So I got some, but I don’t know where to put them. I got this...
My son, halfway across the country is taking care of some chickens fora friend who left state on an emergency. there’s 10 hens about one-year-old and there is one male guinea in with them., my guess is the guinea may have injured the back of this hens neck and then the other hens probably made...
I can click on about a dozen or so likes and maybe post one or two things and then it freezes again. I have to shut it down and start over. This has been happening ever since my iPhone updated to the newest version. I figured it was the updates fault. So I uninstalled byc , reinstalled. Still...
My yard isn’t big enough for my geese to have enough grass 😭
they have about 3000 ft.² but a lot of of it is weeds there is some grass but they’ve eaten it down to tiny tiny stalks so I’ve been thinking about their feed and is it good enough?
used to give them all flock by Nutrena but have...
How hard is it really?
I’ve been “afraid” to try and do of myself. Last time I tried, years ago, I couldn’t get the old knob hardware removed and took a hammer to it smash smash. Still couldn’t get it out.
My front door knob is so dangerous. I can’t even lock it because if I do, I’ll be locked...
9 year old Khaki Campbell named Teeny
Leg /foot injured I believe it was by slipping on ice
I’ve been treating her for a full week already
Inside in a large dog crate with a couple duck friends that are in the room for company, they have been sweethearts and lay right next to the crate to...
I’m getting a notification every time someone reviews a coop article that I had previously reviewed.
I went to preferences and turned off most of my notifications, but I don’t see an option for this specific thing “when some one else reviews an article that you had also reviewed” I don’t see...
One of my young khaki Campbell girls who came to me as a rescue has a small circle hole in her webbing on one foot. The weather is cold and snowy lately and I noticed she sits on her feet a little more often than the other ducks her age so I’m just wondering if the small hole in the webbing is...
My silver Appleyard hen who is not even two years old yet has lost weight and was shivering in the cold. Her feathers look ragged too. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her actually moult yet… except the very first teenage duck molt. Anyway she’s inside now and I’ve been giving her rooster booster...
ever seen eggs like this? The shell is thin, but has calcium deposits which suggests to me my duck is not properly absorbing calcium or something? This is my two year-old silver apple yard who prolapsed several months ago, but recovered after treatment with calcium gluconate and Manuka honey and...
i have one pekin duck who I think would benefit from taking this supplement. I’ve already been giving her extra niacin and meloxicam to help with her legs. And they are helping. But I thought I’d add a little of this too. I just can’t figure out a proper dosage. I don’t want to break open and...
