    Devastated…

I lost my two sweet 7wk old EE babies last night. A predator dug underneath their little coop, ate one and left the other. I couldn’t wait to see their pretty colored eggs or how their feathering would turn out to look. They didn’t mind being held, and their beards were just coming in. I am...

    What’s wrong? Pale comb?

Hey everyone, Scarlett seems to be sick. Her comb is pale and she is pretty sleepy. Could it be a deficiency of some sort? What can I do to help her? She just finished being broody which we thought was a little strange since she is a red sex-link. Could it have to do with that?

Please help me! My Scarlett is sick!!

Hey everyone, I have a sick hen. She is about 1 1/2 years old and going through her first molt. The last week or so she has been lethargic and unenthusiastic. Her comb has been flopped over, she puked a bunch of water and has had bad diarrhea. She sits all puffed up and doesn’t move much. She is...

    Sick hen? Please help!

Hey everyone, I’m worried about one of my hens. She is about a year and a half old, could be molting, but we haven't seen one of her eggs in a few days. She has been walking slow and just standing around the last few days. You can see the discoloration on her comb in the picture. She hasn’t been...

EE brown egg-how common is it?

Hello! I have a 6 month old EE who just started laying. At least, we think. The shape of her eggs are a bit different from the other girls so we’re pretty sure. Anyway, she is laying brown eggs, and of course with her being an EE we were hoping for blue or green. It doesn’t really matter, but...

    Bad habit-how to break it?

My Cinnamon Queen has recently been laying in the bag of pine shavings in the run! Our coop is enclosed in a pen/run and she usually lays in one of the nesting boxes. Is there a way to break her habit? She is the only one of 4 laying right now, I'm guessing the others have stopped because of the...

    Laying pullet not squatting?

Hello everyone, I have a Sapphire Gem pullet, almost 6 months old, who started laying at about 3 months, and just began to be more consistent. I know they are supposed to squat as I have older hens, but she still isn't. Is this a problem? I remember my others squatting right when they started...

PLEASE HELP MY CHICKEN CAN’T STAND

My 3 month old chicken just started falling on her side when she tries to walk and she seems like she’s drunk. She was just talking a dust bath, and then couldn’t stand or move around easily. She just waddles and falls on her side. She doesn’t sound like she’s in pain and she’s eating, but her...

Hens and 3 month olds together?

Hey everyone, I am just wondering if I can start to integrate my three month old chicks with my two older hens. I have two littles, and I don’t think my big girls will be nasty to them, as they are sweet tempered chickens. I have combined flocks before but not with younger and older chickens...

    Hello!

Hey everyone! I have been using this site since we got our first chickens last August. Those two have unfortunately passed on due to predator attacks (we have a very secure coop now). We have 4 back yard chickens in Texas, A Cinnamon Queen, IDA Brown, Easter Egger, and a Sapphire gem. The EE and...
