    Tale of two chickens

    Well, there it is. 2.9 oz or 83 grams. And then there is my Easter eggers egg. Green. Did not weigh it but looks like a pewee. I think she may be part quail.

    Problem child

    There is always one problem child. Ours is a severely cross beaked 7 week old. She is half the size of the other five. She is constantly feeding and drinking she is the most vocal as well. And the most daring of them all. I trimmed the beak but that didn’t really do anything. I’m fifty feet away...

    Our coop

    Amazingly enough I have never owned chickens, built a pen nor a coop. But here I am now with six chickens. Let me know what you see wrong with my already built pen. I won’t be offended. i did lay down 18” wide 1/4” mesh around the perimeter so digging should not be an issue. I hope.

    Newest noob.

    I’ve been reading threads here for a while and decided to join up. I’m brand new to this and have never owned chickens before. Technically, these are my 14 year old daughters chickens. The bills and eggs will be mine. Anyways, just saying hello from northern Illinois. rktekt
