I bought a chick at the farmers market that was supposed to be a splash cochin. I'm guessing he is mixed with legbar but was curious if anyone had any ideas.
I got a couple of chicks at the farmers market. One of them was supposed to be a cochin. I've never had a cochin but I'm pretty sure this ain't it 😂 think it's a barnyard mix? We call it turkey because I was almost convinced it was a turkey when it was younger. I'm going to guess it's a boy.
These 2 were thrown in with some keets. I know chances are slim but is there anyway to tell that these aren't Cornish cross? Anything but Cornish cross.
I know that it may or may not be accurate, but I'm curious enough to ask.
This is a mix of an Easter egger and a buff brahma about 10 days old. I'm curious to know if you would guess pullet or cockerel. It charges up and pecks at me hard every time I put my hand in the pin.
I included...
I purchased what I was told a Barnevelder pullet but I am questioning that. She doesn't quite look like pictures I've seen. I also understand that they often don't lay until 8 to 10 months of age. She has been going in the nesting box since about 5 months of age. She is currently 6 months. Two...
The light brahma is about 12 weeks old. I got as a roo and believe it is a roo.
The 2 buff brahams are supposed to be hens but getting a little paranoid the one with the red comb is a rooster. Does it look like the top of the tail feathers are starting to hook downward? Both of the Buff are...
3 chicks around 12 weeks old. Pretty sure one is an olive egger because it looks exactly like our older olive egger. But the one with the tuft of hair at the top of its head and the blue/grey one are a mystery to me. Any ideas?
These are roughly 4-5 weeks old. Mystery chicks from the local feed store. Supposed to all be pullets but we know how that goes. I am guessing either 2 EE's and a Blue Australorp or 1 EE, 1 Welsummer and 1 Blue Australorp. Or anything else cause I am no expert. I hope they are all pullets but...
I got a mystery chicken from a local hatchery who said they received this free with one of their chick orders. It was all black up until about a week ago (roughly at 4 weeks) it started getting brown on its neck. I can't fully tell if it has a pea comb or a single comb coming in. Any ideas at...
