    Freezing Water Cups

    I use a 5 gallon bucket with 3 rent a coop poultry cups with a water bottle of salt water in the bucket. The cups seem to freeze within 2-3 hours though. Any highly recommended heated chicken waterers? Or a heater I can put into the bucket that will keep the cups from freezing?

    I’m getting 3 baby chicks within the next 2 weeks. Could I let one of my current hens “adopt” them or would it just be safer to raise them inside the house for now since it’s so cold outside? What would the pros and cons be of letting one of my girls raise them?

    33week old BR not laying

    My 33 week old barred rock hen still hasn’t laid an egg and really hasn’t shown any interest in the nesting boxes. She should have laid around mid Sept-mid October and nothing. Any ideas what might be causing such a big delay?
