Black Australorp Hens (approx 8 months old)

Coturnix not laying (7 months old)
I have about 25 7-month-old A&M coturnix, all together in a wire-bottom pen. They have yet to lay the first egg, and I have heard no crowing/singing. Are they that much more sensitive to daylength than chickens (my chickens have been laying good for a while now)? I have had them on 20%... -
Freedom Ranger flavor/texture
I butchered and barbecued a Freedom Ranger last weekend (7 weeks, 5 lbs. live weight). The flavor and texture were great, as I expected. For those of you who have waited until 10-12 weeks for processing - are the birds still tender enough for broiling/grilling then? Thanks- jstamper
