    Tractor or bigger chicken yard?

So I’m trying to come up with ways to keep my girls happy when they need to be locked up for longer periods of time. What do you think is better, a larger chicken yard or a chicken tractor? What would make them more happy?

    Chicken tractor questions.

For those that use chicken tractors/mobile coops. Do you find your girls happy in it? I need a solution for the growing season when I can’t let my hens free range. Also, how do you provide a dust bathing spot if you are constantly moving it to fresh grass?

    Chicken set up

Just wondering how everyone does it. Coop/run 100% of the time, supervised free ranging, full free ranging, chicken tractor, electric netting? Pictures welcome!!

    Help! Opinions please.

So the hens we got came from a 100% free range situation. I wanted to do that for them, but they are destroying my gardens. I’m feeling really guilty about locking them up. Do I re-home them, or hope that their chicken yard with some occasional free ranging is enough? I want them to be happy.

    Hen acting funny.

One of my hens is acting lethargic. She also seems to be struggling to poop, and is pushing out watery liquid. She’s had two large eggs this week, not sure if that could be related. I’m a total newbie.

    Anyone do this?

So my hens are destroying my gardens. Does anyone do a chicken tractor during the growing season, and then let them free range in fall/winter/early spring when gardens are covered? Trying to come up with a solution that makes everyone happy.

    Free ranging questions

Does anyone keep their chickens in a yard/run during growing season and then free range during the fall and winter? I wanted to free range, but they are destroying my gardens. Was hoping to rotate them between two pens during the warmer months, and then once the gardens are covered they could...

    Roosting bars

What does everyone think is the best size for roosting bars, and how high off the ground? Hearing a lot about 2x4s barrow side up.

    Rotational grazing question.

So we have 3 hens that I hope to rotate between two pens and a chicken tractor. The pens will be about 16 feet by 14 feet. My question is, how many days should I keep them in each pen and then the chicken tractor? Are these areas even big enough to do this? Thanks!

    Newbie looking for advice.

So we just got 3 laying hens who came from a place where they free ranged 100% of the time. We plan to have a secure run, and two enclosed paddocks to rotate them on. We also have a chicken tractor, and will let them free range when we are able to be outside to supervise(we have a lot of birds...
