So this is an update in a previous post. My chicks are now 4 weeks old. I know I have at least 3 roos out of the group but is this little reddish one number 4?
I have 6 3 week old chicks and I know I have 2 little cockerels but I'm thinking I have 3 possibly 4! The EE I'm not sure about it's a bit too early yet for her. But I'm fairly confident on my white one. Do you agree?
I currently have some chicks that are about 3 weeks old. I have some suspicion that I have a couple if not 3 roos in the group. I know they're a little young to sex. One is a barred rock/wyndotte cross. The other 2 I believe are barred rock/isa brown cross.
So I recently hatched some chicks and I'm just looking for some help pairing parents. 2 eggs were from my rooster and hen. I have attached the parents pic. The others came from a good friend that had a barred rock roo and isa brown hens and wyndotte hens. The pics of the chicks are the ones I am...
I just hatched 6 baby chicks. 4 of them are barred rock dad with isa brown mom. I have 3 with the headspot and 1 solid black. Is it correct that they would only be sex linked if the isa brown was the roo and BR hen?
I currently have a flock consisting of 9 4 month old pullets, 2 4 month old cockerels and 6 5 week old chicks. Right now my 2 cockerels are in a bachelor coop seperate and my pullets and chicks are in a small barn that we customized to have two seperat pens, one on each side. With the real cold...
I purchased some chicks from TSC a few weeks ago and they have feathered out with some interesting colors and patterns. I believe they are all EE but I was curious on thoughts of what breeds may have created such interesting colors. They are so different from my other EE in the flock.
So I got this little chick from TSC. Was labeled as a Wyandotte. She is a lil Easter Egger. I was curious if anyone might have thoughts on what she is a mix of. Her down is a chocolate brown but she is feathering out mostly white with a black and dark brown pattern. I know the pics are not the...
So I could really use some advice with my current rooster situation. I have a flock of 21, 7 of them being cockerels. They range in age of 3 to 4 months. I created a bachelor pad that houses 3 4 month old cockerels. The other 4 are in with the flock of ladies. I have one extremely dominate...
So I couldn't resist when i went to TSC today. These chicks were not labeled and the employee wasnt sure on the breeds. I am hoping someone can help me identify what these cute chicks are.
I have four 7 week old lavender orphingtons and I am fairly confident that 2 are little roos but I'm questioning the 3rd. Her comb is quiet darker than the other two but the wattle formation makes me wonder. My fourth I'm thinking pullet but she struggled has a young chick and really didnt...
Out of a flock of 21 I have 2 remaining chicks that gender is still questionable. The first is a crevecour mix. Her hair has always been wild but her feathers toward her tail look different than the others and the second is a silkie mix. He comb is reddish but remains small yet she almost looks...
This is my 9 week old australorp mix. I posted her on an earlier thread to get some thoughts on gender. I got some mixed responses so I am trying again.
I have an almost 4 week old chick that has always been smaller than the rest of the group. Over the last couple days I noticed she was losing weight. I put some electrolytes in her water. And she has been eating and drinking well along with keeping up with her siblings. Today I came home from...
I have 2 older Lavender orphingtons that are 8 weeks old. I also have a smaller group that is about 3 1/2 weeks. Why are the older girls combs so dark and small in comparison to the younger groups?
I have a very little silkie. Her name is Elsa and I am new to the breed. She has a very small comb. She is just about 11 weeks old. Are those streamers or just different kind of feathers due to her possibly being a mix?
This is Moana. I call her MoMo. She has had a crazy crest at a very young age. She is now 8 weeks old and it just keeps getting wilder. She provides a little comic relief.
