    7-8 week Olive Egger help

This (hopefully) pullet is from mypetchicken and they do not disclose their olive egger breeds. any ideas on this one? She has a little mohawk and big feet but is smaller than another chick we got at the same time and no other signs of not being a pullet. She was a black and white chick and now...

I'm loving all the wild chickens on the Big Island in HI! They all seem to be bantams, which was an interesting discovery for us.

2 Niederrheiner Roosters in Maryland need homes

Approximately 13-14 weeks old, just started crowing, sweet as pie (I was just holding the lighter one in my arms before I took this picture). Niederrheiner is a rare breed and is supposed to be dual purpose - we were told we got sexed chicks and expected pullets but obviously got cockerels. Hate...

First field trip with 8wo chicks (pictures)

We let the chicks out to free range today for the first time. It went well! They mostly stayed separate from our 5 original chickens who are about 10 months old. This chick caught a grub and that chicken in the background chased her until she dropped it. Lol

It worked! (In-coop brooder to integrate flock)

Our chicks are 7-8 weeks old now and have been in an in-coop brooder since about 2 weeks old. Today when I went out to see them they were all out in the run playing, roosting, and drinking from the main waterers. Easiest integration ever.

I went to close the coop door for the night and found the chicks on top of the brooder roosting like this... I guess they feel ready to be out

    In-coop brooder with escape hatch

I don't know where I saw the idea on here but thank you to whomever posted about building a brooder in the coop. Last weekend we built one with heat and hardware cloth on all sides and today we cut an escape hatch and helped them figure out how to use it. We also took the heat out as they seem...

    One last mystery chick

One last mystery chick. Any ideas on this one's breed? (posted this question deep in someone else's thread earlier, too) I know we might have an Easter Egger on our hands but here's the slip sheet for that day's chick purchase (so you can see the breeds for sale that day). What has me puzzled...

    Not a Buff Orpington?

I was sold a Buff Orpington chick but she's not turning out to be very buff. Any ideas on what breed she might be?

    New member in Maryland

Hi everyone! We got our first chickens last September. From those chicks we have 5 hens: 3 Easter Eggers and 2 bantam porcelain Belgian D'Uccles. We've also adopted and then rehomed 2 silkies when one turned out to be a roo. (They started free ranging a little bit recently with our cicada...
