I was checking the girls this morning and noticed that one hen had what appeared to be a vent prolapse. Within 5 minutes it retracted by itself without intervention. Could she possibly have just laid an egg and she hurried out of the coop too soon when she heard us? This is the first time...
I am gradually slowing down the crazy feather plucking with my flock. I am wondering if they are possibly getting too much light. I have a heat lamp on in their coop all of the time. Too Much? Maybe I could put it on a timer.
