Hi everyone,
Since yesterday my chicken coco has been less active, staying in the coop. when I try holding her she falls asleep. Her comb and waddle look healthy and red, but her poo is white.
My 23wk old easter egger, Coco is not acting like herself. She’s still responsive to food and “sister”’s calls, however she takes any time she can to sleep. I have 3 chickens, I am also a first time chicken owner and this is my first sick chicken. She’s acting sluggish, hasn’t started laying...
My hen Milly hasn’t been laying eggs for almost 2 weeks, she is eating premium layer feed, and lives with a rooster, and she free-ranges in about a quarter acre.
When she started laying she laced an egg everyday, so we’re not sure what happened.
These are my first chickens, so I’m a bit lost.
Today, I noticed my rooster Daffy was bleeding on the comb. Yesterday he had a fight with my dog, but I’m not sure if she did it or not. We ordered some antibacterial spray for poultry. What else can I do?
While my family and I were outside gardening a hawk swooped down, it left quickly because we were outside. I’m worried that the hawk will come back. What can I do to keep them safe? I live in urban Houston, so it was a surprise to me that a hawk would come.
I also have a rooster
Hello,
I'm trying to find up to 2 chickens to add to my flock. Since we have a rooster and don't want him to get more aggressive , we would like hens that will not go broody. We would also like somewhat heat tolerant birds.
We have a buff Orphington Rooster
and a Barred rock hen. The rooster...
My first egg ever! It came from my barred rock Milly!

Also a question if Milly wasn’t sitting on the egg does that mean there is no chick inside?
(we also have a rooster that’s been mating with her lately.
Right now my roo and pullet are 15 weeks old and they are on starter feed.
Should I have started them on grower feed already?
If so what brand would you suggest?
Look!
They are eating my mom’s Shiso. They also squished some green onions in the process 😓
After, they promptly perched on the side of the raised garden bed looking very contented.

Something broke into the run last night.
My mom and dad think it’s rats but I need confirmation.
We think it got into the run but couldn’t get into the coop.
This has happened before maybe 2 weeks earlier.
Could you guys help me figure out what dug here?
Thank you!
My chickens never want to be apart!🤣
Even though my roo Daffy sometimes chases my hen Milly around…
Once I heard Daffy honking, I think it was because he couldn’t find Milly.
