I’m not sure how this happened. I have an automatic door so it’s possible the raccoon got trapped inside when the door closed and this was his way out. Or if he came in this way somehow. I’ll save you all from seeing the interior photos. But it was very bad. The stuff just under the opening is...
When to the coop yesterday and saw this guy. While I was working he the coop he slithered out a small hole where the wall meet the roof. Came back out this morning and found him back in the same spot. I looked it up and it’s a black rat snake from what I can tell.
My chicks are a little over 5 weeks old. They eat there feed but they don’t like scratch and meal worms. I thought they would go crazy for meal worms so I got them a bag at tractor supply but they barely touch them. They will however go crazy for some scrambled eggs. Strange little birds
I really like sillies but I’m going to have a free range flock. I’ve read that silkies don’t do well free ranging and are better kept in a run. Does anyone have free range silkies and if so how do they do??
I have a few questions about feeding baby chicks.
1 at what age do you introduce chick grit to them?
2 at what age can you feed them scrambled eggs?
3 how do you make them scrambled eggs?
4 at what age can you start giving them things like meal worms and other treat items?
Thanks everyone
Picked up a few things to start my brooder build. I went with a 70 gallon bin, I like how big it is and I think it will work well. Also gonna try the rent-a-coop heat plate and see how it works
So I have this shed I want to turn into my chicken coop. I’m guessing I will have 10-20 birds and they will be free range. The shed will have power to it soon so I can have lights and water heaters if needed.
