    I feed my olive egger chicks pelleted feed, they are barely a week old. At what ages can I begin to introduce them to scratch, cracked corn, etc?

    Well, my hens were secretly laying eggs in an old henhouse and I was surprised to see them taking turns going in there throughout the day. They've laid a LOT of eggs. Good grief!

    Duck coop on the ground or raised?

    I am going to build a simple coop for my ducks, but I don't know if I should place it one foot high above ground level, or on ground level (I've seen both). I have five KC hens that don't like climbing anything, but a pile of straw on the ground in the winter seems better than a raised floor.

    These Khaki Campbell ducks were hatched by a breeder and mailed to me. I originally ordered 1 drake and 3 hens, and received 5 newly-hatched ducklings (1 extra for insurance) on March 16th.
