Hi 👋
So day 30, no pipping, no movement that I can see, vents open, humidity increased to 70%.... am I missing anything? Should I expect to see more at this stage?
Pekin bantam has hatched out 11 of 13 eggs. 6 black and 5 white. We put the heating lamp in with her, in two big boxes, with room for all to move about. Day 5 have noticed that she is pecking at the black chicks especially when feeding, passing all the white chicks to get to the black chicks...
Hi,
Can you take chicks off a hen when they are born? Bantam pekin has hatched 11 out of 13, one egg to go. Worried some may get cold and die as may be too many. What are others thoughts? Thanks
So have 6 turkey hatching eggs in incubator. Day 18, what way should the air sac be at the moment? Should it be taking up half of the egg in an up and down fashion around the egg ( if ya know what I mean). Advice plz? 🙂
Well,
My Silkie rooster has got her eye poked out!!! How could this happen? Who or what could have done this? He is very anxious runs away from us all the time, doesn't like going outside.
He's kept with a little bantam hen at night. We have two other roosters (RIR and Barnvelder) kept...
Hi there, please see picture attached of rooster, is this comb normal, it appears to be affecting his vision? He doesn't open eye now? What do we do, do I need to cut feathers?? Advice please thanks

Hi,
Something wrong with my chick seems to be swollen on one side at the back - see picture. Think he might be breathing heavier than normal but not sure. Not sure if he's drinking or eating as well as others. He's definitely smaller than the rest nearly two weeks old. Help??
Hi there,
I have a chick I found dead this morning, lying to the side of box under brooder, with one leg stretched out. Don't know what happened. Hope she wasn't stepped on by the others or overcrowded? Maybe it was too hot or too cold? Disease? Have 12 bantams and 6 large fowl in together...
Hi,
Incubated 24 and got 19 successful hatching chicks. One there was nothing in it. All other 4 were developed, two smaller and the other two seemed fully developed. I'm thinking this could have been too high or low humidity? Any ideas?
Thanks
Trying to keep humidity between 65-75 , put a wet tissue in it , then forgot about it for an hour and half , when I returned humidity increased to 89% - have I done any serious damage? Have bantams and large fowl. Put rice in tissue in incubator and humidity down to 66% now... Advice please thanks
Is it harmful to have too high a humidity in the early stages of incubating (up to 16 days) or even too little?? I know you need more humidity on hatching last three days or so.
Have the brisnea maxi advanced incubator - you full the water at the side and this goes through to the waterpot in the centre of the incubator. How do I know how much water is right for to keep humidity right?
So here's the thing..I have bantams and large fowl put in incubator at same time.bantams usually hatch at day 18 or 19, large fowl around 21 days. Lockdown is set for three days before hatch date for the bantams - is it ok to lockdown the large fowl at this stage?
Also I put three extra...
