    I am confused lol

This girl was at a local hometown supply store. She was sold as an Amercauna but I am not seeing it now that she is older. She is 16 wks old now. There is no beard or feathering as would be if she was. She looks like an eagle :) Any ideas?

    Nosey Easter Egger anyone??

My girl Cleo is the most bossy, nosey girl I have ever seen LOL She checks the laying boxes more than I do (even after she has layed for the day), if another girl is in the box doing her thing Miss Cleo has to go and stick her head under the butt to check for an egg. She cracks me up. I work...

    Career Laying

HI!! Question...all my girls wanna use the same laying box...OF COURSE. No biggie, they have a line which I find very cute to use it and respect each other. Except my Welsummer....she makes a CAREER outta laying 1 egg. She just stays in there and waits and waits. I check and she squaks at me...

    Egg bound or molting

I have researched and read the threads and past questions and I can't seem to figure out what is wrong with my Polish. 4.5 months old. Has been great. Started making egg laying noises when 2 of my other girls started laying (first eggs in a mixed flock of 18 all between 15-28 wks). We had 2...

2 Beautiful Silkie Roosters ReHome Florida

Hi! I have 2 beautiful Silkie roosters that need to be re-homed as my area that I moved to does not allow roosters. These 2 were too young to sex before we moved, so we were hoping for pullets. But they both have started crowing. They are from a local chick farm that all my chickens are from...

    OMG!!

So my olive egger Stormy just started laying 7 days ago. Beautiful eggs! Strong shells, perfect shape and clean. Is it normal though for her to lay every day?! I have 7 eggs in seven days! We had some this morning and they are delicious 🥚🥚

I AM SO EGG-CITED!!!! Yesterday one of my girls (none of the 18 I have have layed as of yet) kept checking out one of the laying boxes and she kept like pushing her butt out and stuff. Silkie question please?

So I got my silkies from a local farm as straight run. So I knew there is the 50/50 chance of a rooster. So they are now 5 months (they are bantams) and well the black one in the first pic, Sassy, started crowing and trying to mate my hens. :( I just moved to an area with no roosters...

    My Fave Silkie

    Rooster acting strange

My Rooster is 17 wks old and is always very vocal and commanding of the girls in the flock. He eats well and always has to be the first to the mash. Today he came and greeted me like usual but let girls eat and didn't bother them. Now I went out and he was laying in the dirt bath area...

    Silkies gender?

I have 2 Silkies, same farm, same "hatch" so they are supposed to be the same age. They are Bantams. One is much fluffier and very much more sassy. Name is Sassy as such lol. One just looks different as far as the fluff and the beak goes. They are both 6-7 weeks old. I know that it is not...

Musings From my (not so) Little Flock

I thought since I love talking about my chickens and taking pics of my chicks that I would start a thread. Right now I terrorize my poor mother in law with all my ramblings LOL. I started our flock with 4 chicks and that was all we were going to have (insert laughter). Born in June 2 wks old...

    Cleanest option....

Hi all! What is the cleanest, most contained way that anyone has found to feed 10 2 wk old chicks fermented "mash"?? These kids are stepping in it and just having a grand old time. LOL

    New turkey mom!

We just got 9 baby pullet chicks yesterday and 1 turkey, all 2 wks old. The girls are bouncing all over, getting used to their new home and all the turkey does is sleep. Eats, drinks and then crashes. It will sleep in the middle of the enclosure and let everyone just step all over it. Is this...
