So I have 2 chicks in quarantine with minimal sneezing and clear diarhea. I spoke to my vet (absolutely awesome woman, don't get me wrong), however, she prescribed a liquid amoxicilin for it @ .015 ml but when I went to pick it up, they had no method of measure on hand..... I have no idea what...
She's "supposed" to be BO, but I've never seen feathers like them except the 2 chicks I got with 4 other BO's. But the 2 that are colored like this one, have a dark brown bar across their beaks?!? Any idea what it is (none of my others have it)? Is it normal? and Are they BO's?
I have no idea what these are, too new to guess.... They are all mixed, 4 eggs from one and 2 from another friend... I know that at least 2 were with ..Barred rock hens, barred rock roo( this one had been gone a week before I picked up the eggs so still in the running), polish (white speckled...
Mom and I are butting heads as to which these two might be. I'll leave out who thinks what so there's no bias LOL. Any help will be appreciated, as neither of us has a clue! Thank you in advance
These are my 5 week old Orpington and Australorps... All of them look like this. A few of the lil Australorps have wonky feathers going in every direction possible as well, but most look like their feathers are almost shredded. Worried!
So my lil bourbon red Peep Peep hatched 2 days early on 3/29, her lil wings are feathering but they look very odd to me and I can't quite figure out what it is. She's had a lil bout with FOS but seems to be doing much better. If anyone can tell me if her wings look normal for her age I would...
So my lil pair of gosling came this morning, now I'm noticing clear nasal dishcharge, they are eating and drinking fine, active, and poo'ing. Should I worry or watch and wait?
So I'm about to go into lockdown and I noticed a few eggs have darkened on the outside of the shell... is this normal? Should I be worried, or maybe they've quit?
I would love to get input on favorite songs.... Anything mellow or uplifting from the 60's and 70's, country..... I am putting together a playlist for my incubator, brooder and coop... Yes, I know this sounds silly, but I love music, and I am hoping they will to. I can't imagine music will be...
All of you are awesome! I have rabbit holed my way through ALOT in the past 3 days lol! I look for what I want to know, and find myself distracted by all of the interesting things everyone is posting! At one point I had 16 tabs open thinking "I need to read that".... (I may have a problem...
First, I'm sure I'm not in the right place for this post, but every time I try to search a thread related to my question, it takes me to the wrong kind of "crow".
That being said, I have a murder who visit my yard every single day. There are probably 8-10 of them. Should I be concerned about...
Will toms get along with one another without hens around? I can only assume if I end up with 3 hens, they will be fine, or one tom and 2 hens... I've only ever had one tom and never had a problem with him. however, I have one hatching and 2 lils (3 days). So I have no idea what genders I will...
So ma decided I needed a couple new babies! (on top of the 19 in the incubator) I am now proud mama to a Black Spanish and a Bronze! I am so in love with turkeys!! Candling my chicks this evening, wish me luck!
When I put the eggs I ordered into the incubator, I noticed that one had a tiny pinhole that didn't break the membrane, one that the shell felt very thin/brittle, and one that looked small enough to be a guinea egg... I've put them all in the incubator just to see what happens till I candle...
:D New to BYC! 51 this year! My kids tell me it's all downhill from here lol, but that could just mean it only get easier right? I mean it's always easier going down a hill than up LOL I am looking forward to hearing about new/old/better ways to keep my cheeps happy and healthy. I...
