    Predator Proofing

    Got a new coop and run and they left some gaps. It is hard to see, but there is about an inch or two gap between the coop and the run and the more obvious one around the door. Would a rubber weatherstrip be good enough or would we need something stronger?

    Respiratory illness- gasping for air

    One of my pullets has been sneezing. She was the only one so I thought it was allergies. Well it kept increasing so I started her on denagard. It has been 24 hours and she’s worse. She is now gasping for air. I gave her a megadose and have been using vetrx. Is there anything that can be done?

    Would heat cause soft eggs/egg bound all at once? Two of my hens were egg bound and passed a soft egg within an hour of each other.     When do EE typically start laying?

    How many weeks old were your EE before they started laying? Ours are 17 weeks and free range most of the day, if that matters. I’ve noticed a recent change in the redness of their faces, but no squatting, but they’re also a little skittish. I’m getting excited hoping that it’s soon 😬

    Pullet or Cockerel?

    We bought these eight week EE the other day and were told they were all pullets. I’m starting to wonder about this one because of its behavior recently, and its tail feathers are a lot longer than all of the others. What are your guesses?
