Anyone have any ideas on what breed?

Hi! Does anyone have any idea what breed/breeds she is? She came from hatching eggs that I got from someone else and I have no idea what any of the birds/breeds they have are. It’s hard to tell in the pictures, but her base color is almost like a dirty cream color, and she has black and brown...

Broken beak, Not sure what to do.

Hi, this is my boy Dusty. He has somehow broke his beak and part of the top fell off, his beak doesn’t fully close anymore and I’m not sure what I should do for him. It kinda looks to me like it’s starting to peel back. Will this grow back? Here are a few pics.

    Sick hen getting worse.

We have a leghorn girl who hasn’t been doing well for about a week now. She is closing her eyes at all times. Her face and comb are very very pale. And she is puffed up. Not eating much, but if she does, she is still pooping normally. She is also light as a feather. I thought that she was egg...

Chicks won’t go into the coop at night.

We currently have 7 older hens and 4 new youngsters. The young ones are about 12ish weeks old, and are finally successfully integrated into the adult flock. But…. They will not go into the coop at night. I have watched all of them going to bed and it doesn’t seem like the older girls are not...

4 week old SLW chicks? Suppose to be all pullets??

Hey everyone! We went ahead and bought 4 Chicks from tractor supply. They were labeled as “premium pullets” and the lady said that they were all guaranteed female egg layers. Well, some of them aren’t looking so feminine 😆. What does everyone else think since I’m not the best at sexing chicks...

2 month old chicks: Pullets or Cockerels?

Hey! These chicks are now 2 months old. They are all just BYM, we need to start giving away the boys soon so I’m trying to figure which ones are the boys. This one is looking like a pullet to me, but I don’t know. These are my two suspected (cockerels) but they still have no male specific...

    SLW chick comb question.

I’ve never had chickens with rose combs before, so I don’t know anything about them. But we have 4 SLW chicks and they all have recognizable rose combs except for one. Does it look like a single comb or a pea comb? I know that SLW are supposed to have rose combs so that’s why I’m wondering...

    Austra White question.

Hey there!:frow I’ve got a question for all you people with Austra Whites or people who know stuff about them. So males are all white, and females will have black spots/splotches. Correct? So as chicks will the males never even grow any black feathers in the first place? I’ve got a 3 1/2 week...

    Different age chicks meshing?

Hey! So I have 3 week old chicks, 2 pullets and 2 cockerels. I was wanting more pullets, but I can’t find any chicks at this very moment. So I was wondering, how old is too old to add new baby chicks in with these 4?

    Sexing Barred Plymouth Rock chicks.

Hi everyone! I’ve got some day old Barred Plymouth Rock chicks that I’m wondering how to tell the sex. ( They are usually sex-links right?) Here are the three of them. Any ideas? This first one has no white spots. This second one just has a tiny circle. And the third one has like three small...

    When to assist??

I am fairly new to incubating eggs, and so I’m wondering when should I assist? Currently three of the eggs are pipped and have been for at least 12 hours, with no progress at all. My last batch of chicks hatched less than an hour after their first pip, so I’m not sure if this is normal or when I...

Would adding 1 or 2 new pullets help the picking on?

So I have a flock of hens, and I later hatched out 3 chicks, (1 female, 2 males) we couldn’t keep the males, so we gave them to friends, and just integrated the 1 female into our flock of hens. Ever since we got rid of the males they have been picking on the female. I know it’s normal behavior...
