I have 3 4-month-old Pekins, two male and one female. The males are making their normal raspy-quack sound that male ducks normally make, but my female doesn’t seem to be making the normal female noises. Instead of quacking, she makes a squeaky-whistle sort of noise. Is this normal? What should I do?
My female pekin duck is about 3-4 months old, and we do have male ducks as well, so I assume she will probably go broody at some point. At what age are ducks able to go broody, and what are some signs of it? If she does, I want to make sure she has comfortable places available to nest/build a...
Hi there, fellow duck parents! I was wondering about my female Pekin duck. She's about 3-4 months old, and she's maturing quickly. We do have male ducks, so I think it's best to assume that she will most likely go broody at some point. (Don't worry, I monitor them carefully every day, and if I...

Hi there! We have three Pekin ducks, Delilah, Duncan, and Danny, and yesterday I noticed that one of the males was displaying mating behaviors (head pumping) to the female while they were swimming in their pool, and then grabbed her and jumped on top of her to attempt to mate. All three of them...
My chickens eat a diet that mainly consists of Bomgaars 16% Layer Pellets. We've never had any nutrition-related issues, and our chickens are always happy and active, but I just want to make sure nobody's ever had problems with it, or if anyone has any better recommendations!
Thanks,
Riverside...
In all my 4 years of raising chickens, we've never had one broody hen before, although we'd like to have one. We have a good environment and suitable nesting boxes, yet none of our chickens have ever gone broody. Are we doing anything wrong that would cause them to not want to go broody?
Hi fellow chicken owners! I'm the owner of a medium-sized flock of chickens, and we own ducks as well! Our property is located near the Missouri River, hence the name! I'm very excited to soon be meeting other people from around the world who share the same interests as I do, and are willing to...
