I looked at a bunch of automatic coop doors, and none of them met my needs.
I realize this might be over some folks heads, but I thought I'd post it and maybe someone else will see it and it will inspire them to make it even better.

A local meat processor sells cow fat for 50 cents a pound.
I've fed my chickens some of the cheap $1 suet cakes for song birds and they really like them.
Thinking about making some of my own with cow fat, meal worms, black soldier fly larvae, and sunflower seeds.
I built this coop last month, and I was told that the chickens shouldn't be up high where the cross breeze is in their coop. They have roosts about 12" off the floor of their coop area, but low enough that they aren't up high where the hardware cloth is that lets air through.
Kinda hard to see...
Just curious what others are paying for a bale of straw for the coop / run.
I usually buy at my local feed mill but they are $7 a bale. I saw someone on facebook marketplace selling for $4 a bale cash, thinking about going and picking up a dozen.
My mom came out this last weekend to see the chicken coop I built.
I told my wife, watch, the first thing she asks about will be heat.
And sure enough, it was "But won't they get cold?!"
I explain that no, chickens don't need heat, its more important they have good ventilation and a dry...

I have a 6'x12' chicken run / coop that I need to put siding on. About 1/3rd of it is open with hardware cloth, the rest is OSB and will be covered with hardware cloth.
