Is this normal comb and wattle development for 25 week old Speckled sussex and 22 week old buff orpington pullets?

Hi all, we have some beautiful Buff Orpington and speckled sussex pullets that are 22-25 weeks old. (the buff orpingtons have recently copped some aggression from a rescue hen that's now isolated from the others) Are these normal comb & wattle developments for this age? We have a 29 week old...

Which chicken did this egg come from?

Hey all, I posted this on the Facebook BYC page too, I'm so curious! We have 11 chickens, 1 of which is a laying Hyline rescue hen called Rosie (very sporadically laying, maybe 1-2 a week). This morning we had a rather large, whiter coloured egg, which we think could be that of miss Buttercup -...

    Confirming all pullets?

Hey all! I have 4 Speckled Sussex chickens all 16 weeks - none are crowing, I don't see any saddle or sickle feathering and their combs appear to still be small and pink. No wattles have appeared yet either! Do these look like pullets to you? 😊

12 week old Buff Orpingtons 1 cockeral & 2 pullets?

Hi all! My 12 week old Buff Orpingtons are tricking me - I'm fairly certain I have 2 pullets and a cockeral? The first 2 pictures are of Splotch - I suspect cockeral as the comb is a lot more pink than the other two, however it is small still. The other two pictures are what I believe to be...

Could this be a vitamin deficiency or possibility of crop issues?

Hiya all! Can someone help me figure out what is going on with our 19 week old Buff Orpington Buttercup - she seems to extend her neck and twitch? She is eating, drinking and otherwise fine, this has only just started today. All of our other hens in the flock seem fine also! Could this be an...

9 & 10 week old Speckled Sussex - I think more roos than hens!

Hey all! Can I get some help with our Speckled Sussex chickens. Millie (first 3 pictures) Chippy (2nd 3 pictures) & Florence (4th 3 pictures) are 10 weeks old, and Rudie (3rd 2 pictures) is 9 weeks. Chippy has one wattle that has developed but not on the otherside. My heart is telling me...

8.5 week old Speckled sussex - pullet?

Hi all! This is Millie, an 8.5 week old Speckled Sussex, he/she is our most docile and well mannered chicken. The body stature to me seems very Hen like, but I could be very wrong! We unfortunately are not able to keep Roosters where we are, so I'm praying this little one is a Pullet/Hen! ❤️

Based on tail feathering, what gender do these appear to be do you think?

Hey all! Here we have some almost 8 week old Speckled Sussex chicks. Their combs are really putting me off, I can't say that any are particularly large or pinkish/red. But I have noticed their feathering on the tails to be different! What do you all think? The first 3 photos are of -...

    Is this a roo?

Please tell me that my favourite speckled sussex is in fact a Florence & not a Lance, she/he is 7 weeks 😅❤️

    What genders do we think?

Hiya all! We have 4 x 5 week old speckled Sussexes and 3 x 4 week old Buff Orpingtons. What do we feel these could be? I know it's a bit early, but I thought I'd try! I'll update as they grow ☺️
